Clonezilla

I’ve been asked several times about an alternative to Macrium Reflect Free since it is no longer free. I’ll be using it until it no longer works on my hardware.
The alternative I’ve always kept it my toolkit is Clonezilla, in fact I made a short video of Clonezilla in action over 6 years ago: Clonezilla Ain’t Hard.
Clonezilla runs off a “Live” cd or usb drive. There are 2 versions of that, alternative (dased on Debian) or alternative stable (based on Ubuntu). I recommend the alternative stable version, it probably has better hardware support.
There is also a GUI and enhanced version of Clonezilla called Rescuezilla.
Clonezilla was just updated (version 3.1.1-27/20231102).

We “Fall Back” Sunday
Here in the U.S.A., Daylight Saving Time ends at 0200hrs on Sunday, November 5th (except for Arizona and Hawaii). We set the clocks back 1 hour and go back to Standard Time.

Bike Ride: Back Bay to False Cape to NC

Video of Bike Ride: Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, to False Cape State Park, down to North Carolina border, and back.
Total distance: 20.76 miles. Includes a few miles on the beach.
October 28th, 2023
Weather during ride: Mostly Sunny, lite winds, 70-82 degrees.
Due to the unusual, fantastic weather and the fact that Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge closes for the winter on Nov. 1st, the Back Bay portion was very busy. We didn’t see a soul the final few miles of the False Cape section.
The final stretch of 1.5 miles to the NC border involves walking/pushing your bike through sand. It ain’t easy.
