Is build 10240 Win10 final? Folks at Neowin, Paul Thurrott, and WZOR seem to think so.
I set out to do a clean install on the machine I upgraded to Win10 from Windows 8.1.
1 – Backup using Acronis True Image.
2 – Get Windows key. ( use ProduKey )
3 – Make bootable Win10 flash drive:
– Find and extract Win10 image. See this article: How to turn your Windows 10 upgrade files into an ISO disk image.
– Use Windows USB/DVD Download Tool to create flash drive
4 – Boot from flash drive, use diskpart to wipe drive.
5 – Install Win10.
Everything went great. All drivers were installed except for (surprise, surprise) Creative Sound Blaster drivers.
Obviously I’ve a lot of work left to do but so far, so good.
This is by far, the most pleasant Windows install I’ve ever done.
