Baby Hawks
We’ve had a nesting pair of hawks out back this year. Their babies hatched a few weeks back, pretty sure there are 3. Young hawks are called eyas. I’ve kept my distance during this time. The nest is visible through the window over the kitchen sink and I watch them often with binoculars. Spring foliage is making viewing a little harder. The eyas are becoming increasingly restless. Here is a couple of pics taken from my back deck using a 7-8 year old Canon PowerShot SX710 HS at the max 30x zoom:

Mom or Dad a few weeks ago when I believe the eyas had just hatched.

My brother is currently in Yellowstone taking photos of some wildlife and nature. He’s being going on these excursions with a well-known photo guy (he runs a class w/ about 5 to 8 folks per trip) but in 10 years of his travels, he hasn’t shown us any photos (we think it’s because he wants to tweak them first, but alas, I don’t know if he ever does, so we don’t get to see them). So, I say thank you for your wildlife photos even if they are in your backyard.

Your lucky to have a hawk nest so close. I have 2 robin’s nests on the downspouts of my house, and I love watching them.
Thanks for doing stories like this that aren’t computer related, but reminds us to look outside.
