How to get the Windows 10 May 2020 Update
Windows 10, version 2004 known issues
What’s new for IT pros in Windows 10, version 2004
Neowin – Windows 10 version 2004 is here – here’s what you need to know about it
The best breakdown I’ve seen so far.
Site after site saying 2004 is “available for everyone”. I’ve been checking since 1300hrs and nothing. Some say the Media Update Tool is working for them, some say it quits part way through, some say it supplies 1909 instead.
* edit – Media Update Tool worked fine for me. Download, extract with 7-zip, click setup.exe, done in 10 minutes.

I have three computers – two fairly newish laptops and one home made desktop dating back to 2010. The two newer laptops still don’t show version 2004 through Windows Update, so I’ll wait patiently until offered. The older desktop was offered the download/install through Windows Update and all went fairly smoothly. Only gripe is that it took two and half hours from start to end! If anything that pc feels a lot more snappier and there have been no issues with the pc or running all of my programs. Touch wood – all good.

Had a difficult problem with clients laptop, decided to upgrade for a possible fix. She had Ver.1809 and I used Ver.1903 media creation tool to upgrade. When installing it auto updates the tool to Ver. 2004. Took a whopping 5hrs on a 50mb connection speed! It did install 2004 and 2004 is working well. It did not solve the problem though.
