Microsoft: Windows 10 to grab 7GB of your storage so big updates don’t fail
News all over the internet. IMHO, no big deal. Stop your fracking whining.
FYI – As it stands this will only apply to new installs.

Best Drive Cleaner? CCleaner VS Wise Disk Cleaner VS PrivaZer
Major Geeks has a video showing the options of each. Good stuff.

    From the linked article article:

    How does it work?
When apps and system processes create temporary files, these files will automatically be placed into reserved storage. These temporary files won’t consume free user space when they are created and will be less likely to do so as temporary files increase in number, provided that the reserve isn’t full. Since disk space has been set aside for this purpose, your device will function more reliably. Storage sense will automatically remove unneeded temporary files…

Sounds as if MS is going to partition yet another portion of the physical disk for its own use and obviously will deny the non-power user access to this partition. Wonder what else will be stashed away from prying eyes on this stealth drive? Yeah, MS has given me ample reason to be skeptical of their intent.

Having finally read the whole article it seems as if MS will not be creating a distinct partition on the HD for the reserved servicing space after all. However, the fact remains that the contents will be hidden from the average user so inspection and verification will likely be difficult.

In the good old days a simple disk space check before installation was all that was needed – “You do not have enough free disk space to continue. Free up additional space and try again. You need 7GB available space to continue.” Too hard to do these days? I smell a long term telemetry and personal data honeypot.
