You are probably fine if you haven’t encountered any issues so far. I used Windows update on my machine without any issues. People have to backup everything they care about. I have over 20 years of documents, music, pictures and videos that I would not want to lose.

Haven’t encountered any issues and the OS have been pretty stable so far. Wonder if it has to do with online/offline update. I mean I updated my Laptop from the ESD files and it worked like a charm. Also, I partitioned my disk, all my important files are located in a seprated partition, but I also relocated the main user folders to my storage partition (Ex: c:/user/music to d:/user/music) Dunno if this saved my files, but it seems the lesson is “Always perform a backup before any system update!”
I´d like to know if someone lost some data with the main user folders relocated to another partiton.

6 out of 7 PCs upgraded from 1803 to 1809, no prob whatsoever. Upgraded with the setup files residing on local harddisk and started setup from there. PC nr 7 will follow next week if I still don’t have any issues.
I always keep a full system image of the previous version (in my case a Norton Ghost image but any reliable tool should do) but I have not been considering going back.
I will keep an eye on the news regarding 1809 and probably do a clean reinstall after all issues seem to have been resolved. For now I’m sticking to my upgraded systems.
On a side note; as you can see I’m not a Windows hater, but I also use Linux. OpenSuSE Tumbleweed. A rolling distro. Given the really HUGE amount of changes such a rolling distro brings, including frequent changes to the kernel itself and to the graphics system, changes which hardly ever cause problems, I do find it fair to say that MS just has not got it’s stuff together compared to OST. I cannot comment on other distros from personal experience but those people I know who are running Mint Linux also seem pleased with the stability. MS could learn a lesson or two here.
