I have upgraded 6 computers so far at my office and home and the only thing I have found “so far is that it reset the way I had my folders set up. It was a pretty easy fix.

I had three oldish computers updated through Windows Update, which all have the Home edition – 64 bit operating system. The only issue was on an Msi laptop that saw Edge not being able to connect to the internet – just showed a blank page saying “Ooops…Can’t connect” – something to that effect! Got remote assistance from Microsoft , who reset the Network settings and, on reboot, all was good. By the way there were no connection issues with either Firefox or Internet Explorer on said laptop. Thankfully, all else went smoothly particularly given the age of my machines – no lost data or corruption of file structures as is being reported.

WOW! Is this a headache or what? I successfully upgraded from v1803 to v1809 a few days ago and it seemed to be without incident(s). However, Settings now dies every time I try to start it. NOT one of the settings tools (including Windows Update) can be run successfully (even from the command line). AND, it gets better …
I downloaded the (new) v1809 Media Creation Tool earlier today. I ran it. Now, it tells one that there is a new version of the Media Creation tool available (as of this afternoon) and sends one off to a Microsoft site to … wait for it … drum-roll …. download v1803 of the Media Creation tool. So, I think this begs the question of whether MS is withdrawing the 1809 update for now.
A serious mess that causes serious headaches for users. I am SICK to death endless (usually failure-prone) Windows updates every 6 months! Who ever thought this was helpful?
So, I’ll be rebuilding my system from scratch tonight with v1803.
