Hiren’s BootCD PE
I saw this this morning and A.G. sent word he heard about it too. It seems some fans/followers of the original Hiren’s BootCD decided to take it upon themselves and bring the thing into the modern age. Along with more recent drivers this Win10 x64 based PE boot disk has UEFI support. There are a whole host of useful system tools. I fired it up in a VM and it looks good to go.
“Hiren’s BootCD PE does not contain any malicious software and it does not contain any prited software. It is 100% safe, free and legal to use.”
See the DOWNLOAD PAGE for links and a list of all included programs.
They have a tool to help you put this on a flash drive if you desire: https://www.hirensbootcd.org/usb-booting/
I will be adding this to my My Rescue Flash Drive.

Should bicycle helmets be mandatory?
It took me a long time to get used to the idea let alone wear one. IMHO they should be mandatory.

I personally wear a helmet when cycling and made my kids wear one when they were children. But, making it mandatory goes against my libertarian leanings. Maybe it should be required for children.
Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound) says
I have the same leanings. But. Long story short…
As long as the legal system allows a bike rider to sue a car/truck driver in an accident I maintain a helmet law is necessary, motorcycles too. The compromise would be you can ride without a helmet but give up legal recourse.

Curious what your take is on this. i know the recent “Sea Dragon” hack was blamed on the defense contractor, but I’m sure the military had over site to to some degree. Do you think the US military is competent enough to defend against hackers, and/or do the hacking themselves?
Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound) says
I’ve no idea as to the competency of anyone in Cyber Command but I would hope they are very good at what they do.
Basic strategy tells me that a highly effective offense is the best weapon in any defensive arsenal.
