Yep, I started this site 16 years ago. Whois says Creation Date: 2002-05-13T18:12:23Z but I think “May 2002” is close enough.
The average life span of a website is 2.7 years so this site is ancient by internet standards.
The purpose of this site was and is to inform and help in matters computer related. You know, “computer stuff…”
I hope I can still be doing this in another 16 years. I don’t know though. Will we still be using PC’s then?
There was a time when this site sometimes saw +35k unique hits a day. Today it is a fraction of that. I’ve have heard from every one of the world regions except maybe the 2 poles. You’ve no idea how humbling and special that is to me.
To the millions who have stopped by through the years, Thank You!
I hope I was able to help you in some small way.

Years ago sites used “affiliates” to pass on their news. The use of affiliates was twofold: 1 to bring visitors directly to your site, and 2 to increase your Google page rank. AFAIK Google stopped using such things and sadly few website operators are friendly anymore.
At any rate, here is a list of affiliates from TweakHound.com’s past. Most of them are no longer around or have been bought out and changed:

TweakHound.com Is 16 Years Old

Hey Eric – I’m a fairly new reader, having just found your site in the last few months. But your posts have already helped immensely. Congratulations and kudos for sticking with it for so long!
Thanks!
16 years! Wow, that’s about 6 eternities in the world of computing, maybe even more because even those eternities tend to get shorter and shorter. But let that not overshadow that fact that you have helped countless people and also have given us a quite a few other useful / funny / thought provoking things. Thanks a lot! Much appreciated.
Off-topic: while typing this on my desktop I am performing a clean W10 reinstall on the laptop of a relative. The 1803 update f-d it up so very thoroughly that even a rollback / reset / refresh was not possible. As there was nothing of REAL interest as far as user data was concerned, we agreed on a clean W10 1803 install.
Thank you. That scenario is why I always make disk images before big updates.
Happy Birthday Eric. Have a slice of Chocolate Cake
Hello James. Chocolate is my favorite!
I have only been receiving the tweakhond notices the last couple of years or so especially notices on new/patched releases of various software. I wish I had heeded your warnings about the newest version (April) of Windows 10. I let my Sony laptop do an automatic update and now the keyboard no longer works properly. I have yet to find a solution. An external keyboard works fine, but the laptop keyboard will not type many of the keys (e.g., 1-9 and the letter p). Since Sony is no longer in the laptop business, they have no new drivers for Windows 10.
Thank you Gary. Maybe try reinstalling any driver you can find?
Congrats Tweakhound and a special thanks to Eric. Sweet 16!
Thanks buddy!
Congratulations. I always enjoy reading your posts. Long live Tweakhound!
Thank you Nick!
You and your site helped me understand a lot about windows in your early years. Your tweak guide for xp was amazing! Thank you for all your help!
Thanks Christopher!
Am a relative newcomer to TweakHound. Thanks for your dedication to this site. Impressive!
Thank you and Welcome!
Hi Eric-congrats! Surf your site daily for years +. The best tech site. Your knowledge enabled me to fix/improve mine and many others PC’s. Hope we’re all around another 16yrs. Like the occasional off topic interests too (biking, sports, ect.). Thanks!
Thanks Bob.
For years I didn’t share too much about myself or post much off topic stuff. I enjoy it but most people aren’t interested and that is fine. That is why I put that stuff under Off Topic so they can skip it.
Happy Birthday! Your site has helped me very much over the years! I pray that you do 16 more years!! Way to Go!!!
Great to hear. Thanks!
Hi Eric, Congratulations and a Big Thank YOU – 16 years is truly amazing! Thanks for keeping your work going through the years. I’ve been reading and following your advice since Tweak XP – I’ve read and reread your instructions and advice on every machine I’ve had over the last ten or so years. You are and have been my number one resource. You’ve proven year after year that if Eric says it, then it is golden. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing unselfishly to help all of us out here. Here’s to 16 more years and beyond! Cheers, Randy
Thank you very much!
Eric
Congratulations. Your site is the first place I check when I want to know something about OS’s and PC’s. You do an absolutely great job.
Thank you my friend!
Hi Eric,
Happy 16th Birthday! I’ve been a windows user since Windows 95 and DOS 6.1. I love your website and have been a fan for many years. I have purchased all of your tweak guides and am currently on Windows 8.1 Pro with Start8 (of course). I really enjoy pc’s, but I think they will vanish in the future. Thank you for all you do for us out here in the pc and windows world!
-Walt
Thanks Walt. I think they will vanish too…
