   Eric, I am curious as to why you use portable versions of a lot of this type of software. I think I know the answer, but want your opinion.

     1 – The portable versions usually don’t try to install unwanted software
     2 – Most change/update often and since they don’t require installation why bother? Keeps your OS partition smaller and cleaner.
