Dear Intel Corporation,
You were informed of the flaws in your CPUs months ago. Specifically, Spectre on June 1st, and Meltdown on July 28th of last year.
In December of last year I spent $1,877.34 on a new computer system based on the i7-8700k CPU, a CPU you long knew to have a major security issue. You should have stopped CPU sales as soon as you knew how bad the security issue with your CPUs were.
You knowingly sold me a flawed product and you are responsible for not only that but the related purchases, the time wasted, the sleepless nights and anguish. So, you owe me $1,877.34 + $1000 for time wasted + $5000 for pain and suffering. Complete breakdown is available on request. I expect this to be paid promptly.

I was kinda kidding with this post but the more I thought about this whole thing the angrier I got. F them. They knew this was going to be a fiasco a long time ago. They knew the problem ultimately isn’t completely fixable. Yet, they continued to sell defective products. That’s 100% BS.
Yeah, I know they ain’t gonna pay me but I want in on the class action suit that is coming. Maybe in 5 years I’ll be able to buy a beer or two with my share.

Thanks. I was being facetious. Intel ain’t paying anybody anything.edit – You know what. Screw that. If Intel’s CEO can cash out after he found out about the flaw and before the security flaw was announced, I want my money back. Every damn penny. Plus money for time wasted and “pain and suffering”.

File a grievance against them in small claims court. Fees to file may be quite reasonable.
When they’re served/notified that they’re being sued in a court of law they will contact you.

Besides, it’s always best to try legal remedies before breaking out
the pitchforks and torches.
After going through the forms on doing the small claims thing I am unsure of my standing. Intel is based in California and I bought the CPU in a county that is an 90-120 minutes away. I wish I had a lawyer that could let me know. I have contacted one of the class action lawsuit lawyers and I’m awaiting word on that.
I would not feel safer in this case.
As for Intel, I believe they knew fully the impact of this before their CEO sold his stock. Unless a whistle-blower comes forward I don’t believe we will ever be able to prove it. The pessimist in me believes they will emerge unscathed by this whole thing.
