Like many others, my main rig STILL had freezing issues after AnniUpdate. Obviously, Microsoft wasn’t going to fix it. I tried every workaround, every fix, everything I could think of. Tinker around, doesn’t work, restore image, update again, try more stuff, restore image, update again, on and on…
I know many of you are waiting for an update to the Win10 Tweak Guide and I figured I put off enough.
So…
This morning I did a full reset and reinstalled everything. *edit* – I should have been clear. This “fixed” my problem.
When it comes to Win10 I don’t “need” to use it. From a personal standpoint I don’t care if I use it. I use it because I support lots of Windows users. I’m perfectly happy with Windows 7 and my Linux Virtual Machines. In truth I can probably do everything I do in Linux. Come Windows 7’s EOL that will most likely be the case (if not sooner).
Anywho, I’ll be working on the tweak guide this week.

I have similar issues on my desktop and haven’t had any luck fixing it either. Did you end up just pulling Win10 and running Win7 exclusively?

It is a dual boot. I just did reset on Win10. It is almost a reinstall. I just wasnt in the mood. Kinda had it.

Ah okay. Thank you for clarifying. Hopefully MS will fix this, but I’m not holding my breath…

I had no problems with the anni update, so I thought. After the last update (9/14) KB3189866, it would stay on downloading 45%. The other 2 on 9/14 went fine. I left it on downloading 45% and walked away from the machine. came back in a few hours, and it was done. Had one situation earlier before the anni update where I couldn’t access certain apps. Did a reinstall and no change but after the anni update they all worked. Heard a lot of strange problems with the anni update, (printers not working, etc) now I hear HP has an updated driver which locks the printer out if you’re not using HP cartridges. I use HP but reluctant to install the latest driver because some people have still had printer errors using HP ink after the new driver. Good luck with your problem Eric.

I had freezing issues with August/September updates. I rolled back to July image and my last update is V 1511, OS Build 10586.589. No problems so far.

I have the same problem, eventually clean install didn’t fix it. it freezes randomly (mostly when browsing internet or changing tabs). I tried everything u wrote nothing changed. Any ideas?

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear. Reset DID fix my issues. So now I am left with this problem. Do I reinstall Win10 every 6 months?
