A few people asked me about using Acronis True Image and Win10.
First as I have stated repeatedly, I DO NOT install it. I only use the boot disk.
So, I have been using Acronis True Image 2015 since it came out. It has worked fine with Win10 UEFI and not, dual boot and not.
I just purchased TI 2017 and ditto there.
I don’t what else to say but if you have questions just ask.
And please, if you are gonna buy it use the link here so I get a commission.

TI 2015 was working perfectly until I installed the AnniUpdate. It now works well if I run it manually or if the computer is on at the time that a backup is scheduled.
Sadly, if the computer isn’t on and a scheduled backup doesn’t occur, the backup doesn’t start the next time the computer is turned on. Absolutely no idea what the problem is :-/

Sorry I can’t help on installs. Have you tried their forums? AFAIK only TI2017 does Win10 AnniUpdate.

I have used it for years and it has saved me a lot of trouble when my system has gotten messed up either by a bad download or my on stupidity. I currently have 2017 and saved my mess up again 2 weeks ago.

Ditto here!

I don’t understand your backup scheme. What do you mean with “restore back to 2” (3, 4, etc)? If it means that you restore backup 2, then update the operating system and then make backup 3, you have to install all your application software again after each backup. Further your backup scheme doesn’t show how and when you make backup 2.
Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound) says
Backup 2 is apps installed.
3 is made from 2. In other words. Go back to #2, update everything and make #3.
4 is made from 3. Go back to #3 update everything, make #4. And so on.

Hey Eric, I’m currently trying to help a small charity/business with a backup solution, and wondering what you use.
They have ~4TB data over Mac and PC, laptop and desktop. I’m looking for mostly on-going file backups (disk images I would generally do as a one-off), and thought about NAS but really need something offsite. Cloud’s gonna be expensive and slow (comparitively) for 4TB, but maybe a home based NAS via ftb? Personally I’d use something like Personal Backup just for my own files but might be a bit complicated or overkill for others to use and it’s PC only…
All I know is if it’s not automated, quick, and simple, it’s not may well not get used :p
