This did not fix my freezing issue. Win10 AnniUpdate is still unusable on my main rig. Ridiculous.
Are you guys at Microsoft trying to drive me to go to Linux full time?

Microsoft has almost become like a Klingon to me. And I am living in that Star Trek 3 movie, “The Search for Spock” where Kirk finally kills Kruge, played by Christopher Lloyd. “I…have had…enough of… you!”
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS4s3XXNLiE ) I’m Ubuntu MATE 95% of the time now, and had a great time distro hopping.

I’ve already said my piece on this. Eric, what exactly do you use your PC for under Windows, that can’t be done under Linux (just curious).
It’s come to the point where the next issue I come across with Windows is going to convince me that it’s time for me to change my philosophy altogether; Run Windows 10 as a guest in a virtual machine under a Debian Linux host. This is in contrast to how I normally operate with a Debian guest on a Windows host.
I’m devoting a fair amount of effort to getting folks to try using Linux, typically Mint, so they can get used to it. I’ve installed a virtual machine with a Mint guest on the last system build I sold. I’m going to make this a standard practice, and I hope other system builders follow suit.
I just cant support Microsoft either financially or politically any further. Their inherent paradigm is corrupt, and just the thought of what they have become, and are morphing into brings bile to my throat.

Very little. In fact I spend much of my time in a Linux VM.
However I do support a number of Windows users (including the users of this site), I fix Windows computers, it’s kinda what I do.

I wish I can move to Linux. Sadly, Linux don’t support:
1. Office, and please don’t sell me the open office crap, as much as I love open source, open office is unusable far more then all the problems with Microsoft.
2. Text To Speech Engines
3. Games ( Yes, I know that lately games moving to Linux.. but its too little too late, and its often the case with fails games that want to have another market)
4. New devices. Better support for drivers and features in new devices under Windows
There is more.. but you know.. that enough

I have been getting random freezing with Version 1607, OS Build 14393.105. It lasts for about a minute and the PC becomes unresponsive. It might happen 2-3 times in a 12Hr period. If they do not fix it soon, I will just have to roll back to an unfrozen version (pun intended).
Never tried Linux. How about running Windows apps in it?

have you tried the actual linux machine woven into win 10? Its a full fledged version of ubuntu-trusty in there. http://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/ just thought if win 10 drives you using linux you can actually use it within 10 🙂
