This weekend I decided to start cataloging my DVD collection so I set out to find the appropriate software.
I’ve been using music collection database software called Catraxx for a while now. That software maker “ceased operations” so I can’t use their CATVids software. Googling for a solution brought me to a pay-for program that was loaded with features. Way, way too many features. I was looking for something simple and free…
– I found free but limited versions of pay-for programs.
– I found a free, and popular media cataloger that looked kinda cool but it required I install Java. No thanks.
– I found popular software that hasn’t been updated in 5 years.
– Then one program’s name caught my eye, Eric’s Movie Database (EMDB)! 😎
After trying it out I’m really digging it. Kudos to the author for a fantastic little program!
EMDB will be my DVD cataloger. Here’s why:
– Free
– Lightweight and requires no other software (java, .net, etc.).
– Easy to use.
– Highly customizable.
