I’ve made a few updates to Windows 8 SSD Settings, Etc.
I’m continually trying to find any official information from Microsoft on why Windows 8.1 is not optimizing for SSD’s.
Today I stumbled on this post at the Microsoft Community site (Ignore the ocz link in the post. Info there is wrong, at least as it pertains to 8.1). The thread starter noticed that ReadyBoot was still enabled in 8.1 and it should not be. Running winsat formal corrects the issue (you don’t need the -v switch as posted in that thread).
Windows 8 SSD Settings, Etc. changes over the last 2 days:
10/23/2013
Removed note for Windows 8.1 Preview users.
Added section Special Notes for Windows 8.1
10/24/2013
Added ReadyBoot
Changed registry file download.
