The usual Geek news sites today have featured a blog post entitled, “Why was Pinball removed from Windows Vista?”
The post is interesting but that ain’t why I’ve posted this.
Like many others I’ve been using the original XP pinball game in 64-bit Windows since Vista came out without a single issue.
Whatever the 64-bit XP problem was must have been worked out by the time Vista rolled out.
Anywho, if you would like the game, I’ve posted a download for you.
It comes straight from my XP install. Just unzip it and run PINBALL.EXE.
Download (please link to this post and not the file)
See: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/microsoft_windows_pinball_space_cadet.html
The game runs great in 64-bit Windows 8 (run it in full screen – F4).
Original folder location: C:\Program Files\Windows NT\pinball
Registry location of game info: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Plus!\Pinball
High scores are in sub-folder SpaceCadet.
