Sorry for the lack of posting. Just got back from Nashville. For those who care the details are as follows.
– Drove to Knoxville and stayed there the 1st night. Ate at Downtown Grill & Brewery. Knocked back a few at Patrick Sullivan’s Saloon.
– Next day drove to Lynchburg, the Home Of Jack Daniel’s (I’m a Tennessee Squire). I got to sit with the Master Distiller, Mr. Jeff Arnett in the Squire Room. I’m told by the hostess Kathy that this was a rare occasion and he actually signed a couple of bottles for me. I was truly honored.
– Next, on to Nashville. While there I went to / saw:
Def Leppard (right in front of the stage, they were awesome!)
Grand Ole Opry
Ryman Auditorium
Country Music Hall of Fame
Nashville Zoo (meerkats!)
Several Restaurants, Bars, and Pubs. noteworthy = Wildhorse Saloon, Broadway Brewhouse & Mojo Grill, Rippy’s (great barbecue), Merchants (excellent/spicy Shrimp & Grits).
– Stopped off at Natural Bridge and “Walton’s Mountain” on the way home.
*A note about the people of Tennessee.
Everyone we encountered was either very, very polite or treated us as if they had known us all our lives. We didn’t have a single bad experience nor did we encounter one person with an attitude. It was a fantastic trip to a beautiful state with great people.
If I get the time I’ll try and throw up a few pics.
Anywho…
Home a week then off to VA Beach for 2 days and my last vacation of the summer. Gonna see Journey, Heart, Cheap Trick while there.
