XP Pro Security Settings For XP Home, page 3 3. Advanced Method* (Advanced users only!!!) When I say advanced, I mean advanced. This is command line and it is VERY EASY to mess it up. Go to START > RUN > type CMD. The command window come up. Type CACLS. You get the following screen: To go to a different directory type CACLS X (where X is the directory name). You can add switches to change/edit permissions. If you don't understand the switches you shouldn't mess with this method people! I hope this article helps you. Questions? Comments? contact me. * Heed my warnings. I am not responsible if you mess things up. |
